A Castle Far Far Away

On Saturday we took a trip to the beautiful Chateaux Vaux le Vicomte just an hour outside of Paris! This old chateaux is known as the castle that inspired the famous Versailles. Built by Nicolas Fouquet in 1661, King Louis XIV quickly became jealous of the castle and its gardens. He had Fouquet evicted, sentenced to life in prison, all so that he could obtain the property. Vaux le Vicomte covers over 100 acres of land, boasting beautiful french formal gardens and, of course, the castle. We left from Paris at 11AM, arriving in time to eat lunch at the Vaux le Vicomte restaurant. Although not many of us enjoyed the pineapple and goose liver paté appetizer, the main dish of roasted duck and a mini quiche was delicious. Enjoy some photos of the amazing castle, sculptures, and gardens at the Chateaux! I'll be posting more soon! Au revoir! xoxobb
